Who we are planygy is a sole member Limited Liability Company registered in New Jersey that operates through an owner/principal and part time expert associates engaged when specific projects require additional capacities or skill sets. Robert A. Kull, a New Jersey Licensed Professional Planner since 1984 and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, is the Principal of planygy, LLC. Following two years in coastal and water resources programs with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and eight years with the Mercer County Planning Division, Bob was among the first three staff members recruited to join the New Jersey Office of State Planning when it was formed in 1986. Initially assigned to coordinate State Plan environmental policies and to manage the cross-acceptance process in New Jersey's northwestern counties, Bob was promoted to Assistant Director in 1990 to take on policy research, applied technology (geographic information systems, policy analysis research and modeling, web site) and eventually to oversee staff support of the New Jersey Brownfields Redevelopment Task Force. One of the first licensed Professional Planners assigned to the Commission pursuant to the State Planning Act, Bob was a key contributor to both the 1992 and 2001 State Development and Redevelopment Plans and numerous contributing reports such as the Infrastructure Needs Assessments (www.nj.gov/dca/osg). Bob is currently serving as the Regional Planning Coordinator for the Burlington County (NJ) Department of Economic Development and Regional Planning and Vice-Chair of the Ewing Township (NJ) Redevelopment Agency.
Bob is currently completing projects for the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management and the Center for Urban Policy Research at Rutgers University. Recent projects also include a regional economic analysis for New York's Regional Plan Association and for the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary. Bob is an active member of the Environmental Planning, Intergovernmental Affairs (currently Secretary/Treasurer) and Information Technology Divisions and of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association, as well as a Past President of the New Jersey Section of the American Water Resources Association. In 2004, Bob was honored with the Budd Chavoosian Award for an Outstanding Professional Planner by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association. He has been a part time faculty member teaching graduate school courses of the Department of Urban Planning and Policy Development at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Rutgers University. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University. Also maintaining an active civic life, Bob sings (bass and baritone) in community and church choruses, is a Trustee and webmaster for the VOICES Chorale, and serves as President of the Board of Trustees for one of Trenton's successful charter schools and was a line and defense coach for Ewing's MCFL junior football program for more than ten years.
